KATIE DEITS

Katie Deits is an award-winning artist, Master Photographer, and writer whose expertise includes art reviewing, public relations, marketing, fundraising, and organizational leadership. 
In 2007, she received the South Florida Cultural Consortium Art Fellowship for Palm Beach County. Her art has been exhibited widely, and she is known for her photography, figurative sculptures, drawings, and paintings. 
She also writes about art for newspapers and magazines and is a member of the International Association of Art Critics. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida. She holds the Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence, as well as a Master of Photography and Certified Professional Photographer from Professional Photographers of America. 
From 2016-2023, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Florida CraftArt, a statewide nonprofit headquartered in St. Petersburg representing Florida’s fine craft artists. In 2023, she received the Muse Award as Arts Ambassador and then transitioned to a different role at Florida CraftArt to serve as its Director of Grants and Special Projects.
From 2009 to 2015, she served as the Executive Director of the Lighthouse ArtCenter Museum & School of Art in Tequesta, Florida. For the previous seven years, she was an editor at The Palm Beach Post. Before that, she owned and operated the largest photographic and graphic design studio in Palm Beach County, specializing in commercial, advertising, aerial, and editorial photography.
She served on the faculties of Barry University, Palm Beach State College, and The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Florida. She lectures on art, fundraising, and organizational leadership.
